Below are details of the workshops which I tutor. I am happy to come to your group at your invitation or individuals may have the opportunity to participate at Brown's Fine Art Studio, Locks Heath.


'Felt with Shimmer and Shine'
In my own felt art work, I use silk fibres, manmade and natural threads and yarns, and anything which sparkles. Felt is traditionally matt but I use all sorts in order to make a felt which is both textural and has shimmer and shine. You will make a piece about 30cm x 40cm (12" x 16") which will teach you how to ensure these sparkly threads felt to the fabric and don't fall off!

'Nuno Scarf on Cotton Scrim'
You will learn the technique of nuno on cotton using spirals of wool and silk fibres, to produce a stunning scarf ready to wear. This method is wonderful for transforming the simple and plain into a thing of beauty.

'Felt Flowers'
Felt flowers, enriched with silk fibres, make beautiful brooches or embellishments for hats and handbags. You will learn how to make a piece of felt which is cut, shaped and shrunk into a flower! Also a felt bead to decorate the centre. Felt is fun and you do not need any experience in felting to enjoy this workshop. You will have time make 5 or so flowers so you will have the chance to try different colours and ideas.
